PTI leader Hassaan Khan Niazi, party founder Imran Khan’s nephew, on Wednesday moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against his military custody, a court martial carried out against him and the full operation of the military court.
Niazi filed a petition with the LHC through his lawyer, Faisal Siddiqui, contending that after being arrested in the May 9 case, he was not presented in a civilian court.
“The transfer of the petitioner’s custody directly to the military authorities without any judicial oversight is patently and wholly without jurisdiction,” the petition argued.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Wednesday sentenced three more accused Habibullah, Gul Khaliq and Usman Khan to four months imprisonment each in cases related to the violent protest by PTI on November 26.
They requested remorse by the court, but the court sentenced them to four months in prison, with the time spent in custody to be included in the sentence. So far, 120 accused individuals have been convicted in cases related to the November 26 protest after confessions to their crimes.
