The federal government has announced plans to fully digitize the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) to improve transparency, efficiency, and merit in medical and dental education, officials confirmed.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said the digitization initiative will reduce human intervention in service delivery, ensuring merit-based processes while eliminating issues like nepotism, delays, and corruption across PM&DC operations.
During his visit, the Health Minister inaugurated PM&DC’s newly developed MDCAT question bank, highlighting its role in ensuring fair examinations and improving transparency for the upcoming medical and dental college admissions.
PM&DC officials briefed the Health Minister on preparations for MDCAT 2025. Mustafa Kamal stressed that there should be no negligence in exam arrangements and directed universities to delegate responsibilities effectively.
The Health Minister also inspected the online registration and monitoring portal, which is designed to maintain impartiality, ensure merit-based admissions, and allow candidates to register and track their application status seamlessly.
Officials said PM&DC will focus solely on registration and monitoring, providing a fair environment, while more than 30 examination venues nationwide have been identified to facilitate convenient and organized testing for candidates.
